Re-Release Of Michael Jackson Moonwalk Autobiography

Michael JacksonThe reprint rights to Michael Jackson’s Moonwalk autobiography have been acquired by Random House and other publishers. The 1988 best selling book which Michael Jackson discussed his music career, fame and his family, will be released  in October.

The US and Canadian rights were purchased by Harmony Books  of Random House owned by Europe’s largest media group Bertelsmann. The terms of the deal with Michael Jackson’s estate are undisclosed. There will be an initial print of 100,000 books.   

Also, there will be a new introduction in the book by an entertainment figure who was close to Michael Jackson. Random House will reveal at a later date who it will be. Shaye Areheart, who finalized the US book deal, will write an afterward in the book.

Shaye Areheart who was Michael Jackson’s original editor at Doubleday, the first publisher of the book, released a statement saying , “This new edition of Moonwalk will continue to celebrate his life and career and show an extraordinary side of Michael that many have not seen”.

The title “Moonwalk” was taken from Michael Jackson’s famous signature dance move. In 1988 the book soared to number one on the New York Times best seller list and in the United States alone sold 500,000 copies.
